Jose Voisin became a member of the Carmeuse family in June 2019 and has been serving as the Group CIO, leading the IT & Digital Team to equip the company with technology and digitalization ever since.
He takes great pride in his team, which he describes as a diverse group of highly skilled individuals. Jose values the relationships he has with his colleagues from both NALT and ELT and sees them as excellent partners to work with. Working with multiple teams and cultures simultaneously is an honor and a valuable life experience, according to Jose.
One fun fact about the IT & Digital team is that they know how to have a good time! During the last IT Conference, Jose discovered that his team members are talented karaoke singers. And during the last European Week, they dressed up in rock and roll attire, complete with wigs, making for an unforgettable event. It's clear that this is an enjoyable team to be a part of.
When Jose is not leading his team at Carmeuse, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, exploring new destinations, and hosting backyard barbecues.
Matt has been a part of the Carmeuse team since 2010 and has held several positions within the team, including Production Planning and Quality Management business analyst. Currently, he is the Enterprise Applications Director and leads the team responsible for implementing and maintaining key systems of record for HR, Finance, and Support Functions.
The systems that Matt's team manages are critical to the smooth functioning of Carmeuse's operations. ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and HCM (Human Capital Management) are the two primary systems that his team manages. ERP is an integrated software suite that manages business processes and automates functions such as accounting, procurement, and supply chain management. HCM, on the other hand, is a system that is used to manage employee-related processes such as payroll, benefits, and performance management.
Matt's role is not limited to managing the current systems. He is also responsible for planning for the future considering the strategic goals of the company. This includes planning for the implementation of new systems, such as a new ERP and HCM, while ensuring the continuity of the business using the current systems.
Matt believes that he has the best team in the world, and it's not hard to see why. The team members are willing to learn and expand their knowledge, and they always go the extra mile whenever asked. They are experts in business processes and support the core functions of the business globally, regardless of the system used.
Finally, Matt shared a funny memory he had with his colleagues during a site visit in Romania. As they were on the road and changing hotels and locations every night, their luggage was always one day behind them, arriving at each hotel after they had already left. It wasn't until the day of their return flight that they were finally reunited with their belongings - at the airport. It's a hilarious experience that they can all now look back on and laugh about.
Stephen joined Carmeuse in October 2020 as the Group Technology Director. He leads the IT Technology Team, which is dedicated to delivering and managing a secure, innovative, and highly reliable digital enterprise that enhances business engagement and productivity.
According to Stephen, his team is a diverse group of individuals who bring unique cultural perspectives, and yet share a common goal of delivering value every day. He believes that this diversity has created a passionate and dynamic team.
During a trip to Europe, Stephen shared a funny memory with his colleagues. One of his colleagues was describing their unique position in the military as a missile/rocket operator, only to be corrected by another colleague from the same country that their country doesn't have missiles or rockets.

In his free time, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family, weightlifting, and hunting. As a child, he aspired to be a professional athlete, but now he sees himself coaching a sports team for his son, preferably football, and becoming a stronger leader both professionally and personally in the next 10 years.
Stephen considers being called "daddy" as the best gift he has ever received. History was his favorite subject in school, and he was actually a history schoolteacher at the beginning of his career.
In August 2020, Unnati joined Carmeuse as the Group Digital Director, tasked with defining the company's Digital Strategy in partnership with business partners and delivering on that strategy to speed up value creation. Unnati's team is currently working on two key initiatives, Smart Plant and Customer 360, which are part of Carmeuse's digital transformation journey. The Smart Plant initiative aims to centralize and standardize plant data, reducing manual work and improving operational efficiency. The Customer 360 initiative, on the other hand, aims to improve the customer experience through e-commerce and self-service portals and connected customer data to increase the commercial teams' efficiency in marketing, sales, and services.
Unnati describes her team as a group of entrepreneurs motivated to bring about the right change through digital technology to provide value to the business. They adopt an "inside out" approach, understanding the current business processes and applying technology to reduce waste and improve experience, as well as an "outside in" approach, accessing technology trends and identifying how they can solve complex business problems.
Outside of work, Unnati is a family-oriented person, enjoying spending time with her husband, who works in robotics and automation, and their 10-year-old son. She likes to cook and sing in her free time. While she once dreamed of being an air force pilot, she soon realized her limitations, but her passion for conquering difficult missions and creating a positive experience for others remains strong. Her favorite subject in school was chemistry, and she fondly recalls understanding the equation CaCO3 = CaO + CO2.
John is a pioneer at Carmeuse, having started working in the company since 1990. He joined the IT Data & Analytics team three years ago and is currently responsible for providing insights and analysis of data to help the business make informed decisions. The team also supports the budgeting, forecasting, and financial consolidation processes.
The team consists of data engineers, business analysts, and system architects located in Belgium and Pittsburgh, each with diverse nationalities, genders, and personalities. Despite the differences, they complement each other well and enjoy working together. They also enjoy having fun together, as evidenced by a team meeting held last year after the pandemic, where they tried out Segways and went through the city center of Namur.

In his free time, John enjoys the countryside, walking his dog, (e-)biking, and gardening. He also values staying in touch with his family and children, who do not live in Belgium.
As a child, John dreamed of becoming a football player for Ajax Amsterdam and enjoyed studying mathematics in school. One of the best gifts he ever received was a surprise holiday to Malta, organized by his children for him and his wife.
It's clear that John is passionate about his work and enjoys working with his team to provide valuable insights to the business!
Eugene joined Carmeuse in January 2021 and has been serving as the IT Security Director since February 2022. His primary responsibility is to ensure that Carmeuse's cyber security works flawlessly as the immune system of the company's business operations.
He thinks that the cyber security team at Carmeuse operates under the motto "We are comfortable with uncomfortable" and consistently strives to improve the company's security posture. For his team, every face-to-face meeting or team-building event brings joy and great emotions.
Outside of work, Eugene has several hobbies that keep him active, including skiing, cycling (both MTB and road), and mountain hiking. As a child, he wanted to become a computer games developer, and his favorite subject in school was computer science and programming. He is passionate about making the world more cyber secure and protecting businesses from criminals, and he envisions himself continuing to do so for the next years.
