Carmeuse Celebrates Excellence Across the Globe
Recognizing the achievements of our colleagues worldwide

 

At Carmeuse, we are proud of our people and their achievements. We believe that excellence deserves recognition and celebration. That’s why we recently held two awards ceremonies—one for Carmeuse Americas and the other for Carmeuse Europe, Middle East, and Asia (EMEA). In this article, we want to share with you the highlights of these events and the remarkable contributions of our award recipients.

Carmeuse Americas
Five Stars of Excellence 

The Carmeuse Americas awards recognized five individuals and teams who exemplified our values of collaboration, growth, engagement, productivity, and sustainability. They are:

  1. Amy Reinders – Amy has not only internalized our labor contracts but has also continuously developed in her role, taking on increasing responsibilities.
  2. Kevin Stevenson – Kevin’s journey from an hourly worker to a Site Operations Manager is nothing short of inspiring. He consistently pushes himself to achieve more while leading others, demonstrating the power of self-development.
  3. Matt Gower – Matt’s pioneering spirit has transformed his region. By embracing innovative ways of thinking and streamlining processes, he has made our operations more efficient and productive.
  4. Stephen Hiber – Stephen has taken IT to new heights on our digital journey. His innovative mindset and forward-thinking approach have been instrumental in our progress.
  5. The Winchester team (represented by Logan Thompson) – The Winchester team received the President’s Award for their outstanding teamwork and significant contributions to the long-term development of Carmeuse.

Carmeuse Europe, Middle East and Asia
Five Awards for five projects

The Carmeuse EMEA awards honored five projects that showcased our ability to gather, grow, and go beyond expectations. They are:

Collaboration Award - Frédéric Fermeuse, Alecsandru Barbulescu, Benoit Desmarets, Jennifer Ardouin 
Among European areas, we established a sales and operations planning process to re-balance sales volumes, ensuring achievement of Historic Activity Level for Western Europe while maximizing profitability at the CEMEA level.

Growth Award - Romeo Jakubik 
Transitioning from a backup supplier to a strategic partner, we constructed and now operate a Milk of Lime production unit at a Water Treatment site in Eastern Europe (with a 15-year contract).

Engagement Award - Serkan Şen
The Bartin (Turkey) plant’s team developed homemade safety videos, emphasizing that safety is at the heart of our activity.

Productivity and Operational Excellence Award - Viliam Bačenko
We installed an unloading station and transport roads in Slavec (Slovakia), enhancing flexibility and ensuring our capability to supply key customers.

Sustainability Award - Albert Sala, Cosmin Ianculescu, Nicolas Vekony, Christophe Henvaux, Michael Grymonprez 
Our ongoing conversion of the Slavec (Slovakia), Doboj (Bosnia), and Deva (Romania) plants from solid fuel to biomass aligns with customer quality and requirements.

Gather, Grow, Go Award (voted by the audience): The Sustainability Award project received the most votes from the audience, highlighting its importance and impact.
